Barbecue. Sizzling burgers on the grill. People chatting and laughing. Kids playing. Refreshing drinks bubbling. Campfire toasting ooey gooey marshmallows. That is one barbecue I would definitely want to host or attend!
How do you create a good barbecue?
- Grilling essentials and simple entertaining dishes create a more convenient way to serve your delicious dishes.
- FOOD! Whip up some of your famous potato salad to go along with your juicy burgers and hotdogs. Check out the perfect grill recipes that are quick and easy to make.
- Drinks… everyone loves some refreshing drinks to cool off in the summer heat. Make sure the kiddos are equipped too!
- Campfire! It keeps the bugs away, sets the cozy scene, and the who doesn’t love making S’mores?!
My Favorite Summer Recipes:
*Images used from Pinterest
- Cheddar Bacon Ranch Potato Salad: I like to spice things up sometimes, try out some new recipes other than the old fashion recipes (but don’t get me wrong, those are yummy too!) This salad is so good, I like to add extra bacon… mmmmm……
- Stuffed cheeseburgers: Sooo…. I’ll just come out and say it… I LOVE BACON! There I said it. With that being said, these stuffed burgers with ooey gooey cheese and bacon are to DIE for! If there’s one thing on this list that you’d want to try, this would be the one!
- Strawberry Brownie Skewers: Quick, easy, cute and delicious! Plus you can count it as your fruit intake... ;) What’s more to say?!
*TIP: You can save strawberries for later by the fire… dip them in fluff and toast them over fire… YOU’RE WELCOME!
- S’mores: Nothing like ending a BBQ or gathering with a few S’mores by the campfire. Regular S’mores are great but try replacing the graham crackers with your favorite cookie. AND if you’re a peanut butter lover, replace chocolate bar with a Reese’s Peanut Buttercup!
Have a wonderful BBQ!

HELLO SUMMER! I get so excited for this season to arrive. In Maine, you never know what weather to expect… like this year for example we had a harsh winter with tons of snow, and a very rainy, cold, unseasonable spring. So, needless to say, summer can’t come soon enough!
My family has a beach house on the Maine coast, where there’s a nice private beach, usually we are the only ones there. The splash of the waves hitting the rocks, and the feeling of warm sand between your toes… Oh my goodness… take me there NOW! Aside from daydreaming of the beach, I’m honestly more of a lake girl. Why? The ocean is my BIGGEST fear. Yes, I go in the water sometimes, but I am so afraid of sharks, or just ocean life in general, so I’ll pass and stay onshore working on my tan, thanks.
All of this dreaming about summertime has me in a shopping mood (which if you know me… I’m ALWAYS in a shopping mood!) But, it also has me going on Pinterest, and finding summer styles, recipes and such, which you can find my summer board here.
*If you online shop, I STRONGLY recommend using EBATES! I’ve made over $50 Cash back and I’m NOT lying! They even have a button you can add to your browser so every time you go to a store, it automatically applies cash back.
PREPPING FOR SUMMER!
These are the necessities for summertime, whether you spend it at the beach, lake, or simply your backyard, you MUST have them!
*To view specific items, click image.
- Beach towel- Can’t dry off or lay on the sand without one of these, so to have one is obviously a MUST!
- Beach Chair- I’m sure you like to be comfortable right? This chair is so COMFORTABLE! I bought one last year and it is amazing, I think it’s the pillow that does it for me.
- Sunglasses- ugh… DUH! You don’t want UV rays blinding you, so treat yourself and get some sleek shades. (Also good for staring down hot men on the beach, undercover… just saying.)
- Sunblock- Ladies, protect yourself! You may think you tan real easily after a burn, which may be true, but each burn that takes places damages your skin more and more in the long run, so eat fruit and APPLY sunblock!
- Beach Bag- Because how else are you going to carry all of your stuff…? I look for ones that have the silky lining in the inside, easier to dry and dump the sand out.
- A CUTE Bathing Suit- Show off your summer bod with a cute bathing suit! (Remember, we are all different shapes and sizes and you ARE beautiful, so get one that you like, and wear it CONFIDENTLY!)
P.S. Target has some REALLY cute and AFFORDABLE swimwear. Why does everything have to be so expensive...?
- Cover-up Shirt- Easy, convenient, and stylish, so why not?
Every summer has its memories,
CREATE YOURS IN STYLE!
Enjoy the sun,
